# LOGINV

## Content

This function returns the inverse of the lognormal cumulative distribution function of *x*, where [LN](/spreadjs/docs/v16/formulareference/FormulaFunctions/math-trig-functions/LN)( *x* ) is normally distributed with the specified mean and standard deviation.

## Syntax

`LOGINV( prob, mean, stdev )`

## Arguments

This function has these arguments:

| Argument | Description |
| -------- | ----------- |
| *prob* | Value at which to evaluate the function |
| *mean* | Value of mean of the natural logarithm of x, LN(x) |
| *stdev* | Value representing the standard deviation of LN(x) |

## Remarks

This function calculates the inverse of the lognormal cumulative distribution functions, so if *p* = LOGNORMDIST( *x*, ...) then LOGINV( *p*, ...) = *x*.

## Data Types

Accepts numeric data for all arguments. Returns numeric data.

## Examples

`LOGINV(0.92,B8,G22)`

`LOGINV(0.88,2,1.2)` gives the result 30.26479297
