# Launch Designer

To run the Spread Designer, double-click the **Spread.SheetsDesigner.exe** file in the designer folder.

Once you have opened the SpreadJS Designer, you can edit the spreadsheet provided using the available menu options. For more information, see [Work in the Designer](/spreadjs/docs/v16/spdesigner/spdesignerwork). If you have an existing file spreadsheet file you want to open, open it using the instructions in [Open and Save Files](/spreadjs/docs/v16/spdesigner/spdesigneropen). You can open existing Excel-formatted (.xlsx), comma-delimited (.csv), and Spread files (.ssjson) files.
