# IMSUM

## Content

This function returns the sum of two or more complex numbers in the x+yi or x+yj text format.

## Syntax

`IMSUM(complexnum1, complexnum2, ...)`

## Arguments

The arguments are the complex numbers to multiply. There can be up to 29 of them.

Arrays in the "x+yi" or "x+yj" format or range references are allowed.

## Remarks

An error is returned if the arguments are not in the form "x+yi" or "x+yj". For more information, refer to [Complex Numbers](/spreadjs/docs/v17/formulareference/formulaoverview/functionsformula/complexnumbers).

## Data Types

Accepts number and string data. Returns string data.

## Examples

`IMSUM("2+5j","5+3i")`

`IMSUM(A1:B5)`

`IMSUM({"2+5j","5+3i"})`
