Barcodes

You can create barcode sparklines in the spreadsheets to scan information easily and quickly with utmost precision.


SpreadJS supports eleven different types of barcode sparklines including QR code, EAN-13, EAN-8, Codabar, Code39, Code93, Code128, GS1_128, Code49, PDF417, and DataMatrix in order to facilitate users to take informed business decisions and improve data analysis.


Inserting barcodes in worksheets can be of great help especially when you're working for large retail industries that manufacture and sell thousands of products annually.


For instance - let's say you want to create spreadsheets with a huge list of food products that you want to market to your customers. Now, inserting product numbers into the worksheets won't help because manually matching these numbers to identify the product price is a time-consuming task and will probably end up customers yelling at the billing counters. In such a scenario, using barcodes in worksheets can help your business partners identify the price of the products within seconds.

Note: In order to integrate barcodes in worksheets, users need to reference the following file: gc.spread.sheets.barcode.*.*.*.js

QRCode

A two-dimensional barcode representing symbology that enables the effective handling of numeric, alphanumeric, and byte data. This barcode can encode up to 7,366 characters.

EAN-13

A code that makes use of numeric characters (twelve numbers) and a check digit. This barcode accepts only twelve numbers as a string to calculate a check digit (CheckSum) and add it to the thirteenth position.

The check digit is an additional digit that can be used to verify that the barcode has been scanned accurately. When the CheckSum property is set to True, the check digit is automatically added.

EAN-8

A barcode that uses only numeric characters and a check digit. This barcode accepts only seven numbers as a string to calculate a check digit (CheckSum) and add it to the eighth position.

The check digit is an additional digit that can be used to verify that the barcode has been scanned accurately. When the CheckSum property is set to True, the check digit is automatically added.

Codabar

A barcode that uses alphanumeric characters including : A B C D + - : . / $ and all numbers.

Code 39

A linear barcode that uses a total of nine bars to represent each symbol which includes numeric characters, upper case characters, and some special characters ("%", "*", "$", "/", ".", "-", "+").

Code 93

A barcode that uses uppercase characters and numeric characters along with some special characters ("%" , "*", "$", "/", "." , "-", "+").

Code 128

A linear barcode that represents high-density linear symbology to encode the text, numbers, various functions, and the entire 128 ASCII character set (from ASCII 0 to ASCII 128).

GS1-128

A barcode that uses a series of Application Identifiers in order to encode data. This barcode makes use of the complete ASCII character set while also using the FNC1 character as the first character position.

This barcode is especially used for dates, batch numbers, weights, HIBC applications, etc.

Code 49

A two-dimensional, high-density stacked barcode with two to eight rows (having eight characters each). Each row has a start code and a stop code. This barcode is especially used to encode the complete ASCII character set.

PDF417

A popular high-density, two-dimensional barcode with symbology that possesses the capability to encode up to 1108 bytes of information. This barcode comprises a stacked set of small barcodes and can encode up to 35 alphanumeric characters and 2,710 numeric characters.
